You can use this scorecard to measure how ready you are to manage a difficult time, or just a regular Tuesday in nonprofit land.
Let’s Go! Read each question and honestly answer Yes, No, or I Don’t Know. Give yourself 2 points for every Yes answer and 0 for every No or I Don’t Know.
Have you reviewed your messaging in the last 6 months?
Does your social media, email, and other communication follow a central theme?
Are you posting on social media at least weekly?
Do you have systems and protocols in place for getting communications out?
Have you tested fundraising practices in the last 6 months with an A/B test?
Are you Search Engine Optimized (SEO)?
Have you updated your website in the last 6 months?
Do you have a mobile friendly website?
Can you make a donation from your homepage in under 5 clicks?
Is your donation page mobile friendly?
Do you have a database that automates donations?
Does your database have reliable data (at least up to the end of the last month?)
Have you updated your mailing list in the last 6 months?
Are your sign-up forms converting people?
Do you have a welcome series?
Have you tested it in the last 6 months?
Tally Your Results! If you got:
27+ points:
You’re ready! Tighten up on your No’s, figure out your I Don’t Know’s, and tweak your strategies.
11-26 points:
You’re on the right track. Focus on your No’s and try to get to the bottom of your I Don’t Know’s.
Under 10 points:
You gotta get ready! Make a game plan to tackle the No’s and I Don’t Know’s!
